RAJDEEP KALSI
(NCA Level III)
He broke upon the Indian
cricket scene with a
bang by scoring 17
centuries at the Junior
State and Zonal levels.
Later, he represented
India U-19 against
Australia in Australia
and energed the 'best
batsman' of the series.
He also played against
Arjuna Ranatunga's
touring team in the
Irani Trophy in 1994 and
represented 'Board
President's XI' against
Imran Khan's touring
Pakistan team in 1989.
Then hailed as a
certainty in 'team
INDIA', sadly, could not
find his place in the
sun, because of lack of
a quality coach. Since
retiring from
professional cricket, he
has taken up the task of
helping young cricketers
achieve their true
potential. And help them
he did!. During his 5
year tenure as a Chief
Coach of the Himachal
Pradesh Cricket
Association, he took the
Himachal Ranji Team from
being the under-dogs to
the championship winners
in 2006. He was also the
specialist batting coach
at the NCA Annual Zonal
Camp in the year 2007.
He has been bestowed
with the Maharaja Ranjit
Singhji Award, the
highest state sports
felicitation award of
the Government of
Punjab.
V.
VENKATRAM
(NCA Level III)
A
top quality player who
represented Bihar for 18
long years in the Ranji
Trophy and East Zone for
7 years in the Duleep
Trophy. He coached
Jharkhand / Tripura
Ranji Teams for 5 years.
He was also the Chief
Coach for the central
and north zone, at the
NCA Zonal Camp.
Currently, he is also a
faculty member at
National Cricket
Academy, Bangalore (NCA)
and conducts courses for
Level I coaches.
It would not be out of
place to mention here,
that the Indian captain
M.S. Dhoni has also
honed his cricketing
skills under his aegis.
SARKAR TALWAR
One
of those rare players
who posses the right mix
of cricketing skills
required to succeed in
international cricket,
but unfortunately
remained un-recognised.
Amongst the cricket
fraternity, he needs no
introduction; a very
respectable name in the
league of Indian
spinners.
We are all aware of his
unmatched performance in
the domestic circuit -
he remains the second
highest wicket taker in
the Indian First class
cricket. He coached the
Haryana Ranji Team for 9
years and was the India
Under-19 Team's coach –
yes! the one that went
on to win the world cup
in 1996. He again
coached the U-19 Team in
2002. He is a faculty
with the NCA, and was
the spinner's specialist
coach at the Annual
Zonal Camps in 2007.
RAVINDRA NEGI
Ravindra
Singh Negi has a Diploma
in Coaching from NSNIS,
besides having an M.P.
Ed from Lucknow
University. He has
represented his
University team; and
also served as the
Dehradun District Coach
and has been associated
with ACA for the last
five years. He
specialises in coaching
fast bowlers.
PARITOSH VAID
Paritosh
is a fitness trainer and
wicket-keeping coach. He
has been associated with
ACA for the past one
year. He has done his
M.Phil in training
methodology. His study
on comparison of
physical fitness
temporarily migrated
from high altitude, with
the students from low
altitude’ was published
in National Journal.
RAKESH TIWARI
Rakesh
Tiwari has represented
services in Ranji
Trophy. He is a member
of all India Coaching
Association. He was the
coach of Mumbai under-16
and under-19 team in the
year 2001-2003 and
2003-05. He had also
worked in Daman as a
Chief Coach.
MANOJ RAWAT
(NCA Level I)
Manoj
Rawat has done coaching
from NSNIS. He is a big
name in Cricket in
Uttarakhand. He is known
for his batting and
fielding skills. Besides
coaching he has also
done Diploma in Sports
Management and Masters
in Physical Education.
ROHIT P. SRIVASTAVA
Rohit is a right-handed
opening batsman and a
right-arm off-spinner
and is an active member
of the Uttar Pradesh
Ranji team for the past
7 years. He has
captained UP in Limited
Over Cricket. He has
played alongside current
players like Piyush
Chawla, Mohammed Kaif,
Suresh Raina, Praveen
Kumar, Ravikant Shukla
etc. His experience as
an opening bat and his
association with players
of repute will go a long
way in benefiting the
youngsters.
RAJEEV NAIR
Rajeev is an expert in
imparting ‘mind-training
programmes’ , an
imperative in modern day
cricket. He has rendered
such programs on a
regular basis throughout
the country, special
reference is here made
to Tripura, Punjab and
Jharkhand cricket teams.
He has also conducted
stress management
classes for corporates
like Tata Steel etc.
NIRMALYA SENGUPTA
He
has been associated as a
visiting faculty with
ACA since 2004, and
specialises in kids
coaching, which is a
difficult art. His
trainees represent
various clubs in the
Kolkata league and many
of them have represented
junior state teams in
U-15 and U-17
categories.
ANUP DAS
A former Bengal and
Tripura ranji player,
whose first class
cricket spans over a
decade. He for his
accuracy and bite of the
wicket, was nick named
as ‘Nippy-da’ in the
cricketing circle He has
been a visiting faculty
at ACA for the last two
years. He has also
coached at Videocon
School of Cricket (a
Saurav Ganguly venture)
and is presently also
working as a faculty
member in Bournvita
Cricket Academy (an Arun
Lal venture)
