RAJDEEP
KALSI (NCA Level III)
He broke upon the Indian
cricket scene with a bang by
scoring 17 centuries at the
Junior State and Zonal
levels. Later, he
represented India U-19
against Australia in
Australia and energed the
'best batsman' of the
series. He also played
against Arjuna Ranatunga's
touring team in the Irani
Trophy in 1994 and
represented 'Board
President's XI' against
Imran Khan's touring
Pakistan team in 1989.
Then hailed as a certainty
in 'team INDIA', sadly,
could not find his place in
the sun, because of lack of
a quality coach. Since
retiring from professional
cricket, he has taken up the
task of helping young
cricketers achieve their
true potential. And help
them he did!. During his 5
year tenure as a Chief Coach
of the Himachal Pradesh
Cricket Association, he took
the Himachal Ranji Team from
being the under-dogs to the
championship winners in
2006. He was also the
specialist batting coach at
the NCA Annual Zonal Camp in
the year 2007.
He has been bestowed with
the Maharaja Ranjit Singhji
Award, the highest state
sports felicitation award of
the Government of Punjab.
